Sunnyside Bicycles co-owner Vanessa McCracken has been riding for two decades and is obsessed with the freedom and empowerment she feels on her bike. She's done a little of everything - triathlon, cyclocross, cross-country and downhill mountain biking - but her true love is road biking on her beautiful custom Trek Project One! Vanessa is a United Bicycle Institute graduate, as well as a Barnett's Bicycle Institution-certified bike technician. In addition to running the business part of the shop, Vanessa is our primary ride leader. She leads roughly 150 rides a year and loves nothing more than helping people improve their lives through cycling!
Sunnyside Bicycles co-owner John McCracken has spent most of his life on two wheels. His dad, Jim, co-owned Fresno Kawasaki and John grew up racing motocross and BMX. He still rides moto but most days you'll find him on his Trek Madone SLR 9 Disc or Trek Top Fuel getting ready for his next big event! His favorite place to ride is Northstar and the Tahoe Trail 100 is one of his favorite races. A Barnett's Bicycle Institute-certified Master Mechanic, John is our Service Advisor and head mechanic. He has dedicated his life to helping people get out and enjoy the ride!
Nehemias is our sales manager and resident motivator! A two-time Climb to Kaiser finisher, Nehemias loves setting goals and smashing them! A lover of both dirt and road, he is equally driven by helping people achieve their own cycling goals and providing the best customer experience possible. When not working or riding, Nehemias is busy being a super dad to his two daughters!
Superstar Chris is a lover of all things bicycle-related, and we love how he brings the fun to every ride! A full-time bike commuter, Chris's favorite bike is his Trek Emonda road bike. His two favorite rides ever are the Lost and Found Gravel Ride in Tahoe and the Best Buddies Hearst Castle Challenge in San Simeon. Chris loves getting people out on bikes and seeing them have fun and achieve their goals!
If you have a question about midschool BMX, Delaney is your man! A walking encyclopedia of BMX history, he is just as passionate about bikes in general and loves helping get people on bikes! "Bikes make people smile, and I like making people smile!" he says. When not working, Delaney is busy running his catering business, Dr. Rooster's BBQ, or riding bikes with his three kids and fiancée!
Jeremiah Root is synonymous with racing! As humble as he is fast, Root's been racing bikes of one kind or another for pretty much his whole life. A Cat 1 mountain bike racer and Cat 3 road bike racer, Root's favorite race is Keyesville and his favorite ride is up to Wishon/Courtright. When he's not working at Sunnyside Bicycles fixing your bikes, Root's either on an epic ride of one kind or another or hanging out with his cat!
Ryan Ogawa recently joined the Sunnyside Bicycles team and we couldn't be more excited about it! A longtime fixture in the local BMX community, Ryan brings his commitment to excellence and attention to detail to our service department as a part-time mechanic. When not working, you'll probably find him riding and capturing other riders with his amazing photography or hanging out with his beautiful wife and kids!
Zach Moon is our resident bike builder extraordinaire, and also our chief inspiration to get out and explore! A full-time student, Zach is also an extremely gifted photographer and avid outdoorsman. When not working or schooling, you'll most likely find him outside somewhere epic doing something epic and making us all envious with all his adventures! Oh, and he's pretty fast on a bike, too. :)
